Chapter 27.5 is a special episode featured at the end of the print edition of Hooky Volume 1. It takes place sometime during the events of Chapter 27 in the book, which covers episode 54 and episode 55 in the original WEBTOON.

Summary[]

One evening outside Pendragon's House, Nico and Dani are riding brooms together while Dorian and Monica are studying on the balcony. Mark comes over and invites the group to go star gazing with his friends. Dani accepts, and though annoyed with Mark, Nico is invited to join as well. Dorian attempts to stop them, saying it’s too late for them to go out.

Dorian tells Monica how he’s annoyed with how much Dani spends time with Mark, while Monica tells him not to take it personally. Dorian explains he thinks they’re all too young to be concerned with romance. He stops himself however, remembering how important romance is to Monica. He tries to backtrack by saying that he and Dani are too young for romance, not necessarily Monica (somewhat offending her). Dorian says that she’s engaged, and has likely already experienced romantic gestures such as her first kiss. Monica reveals she and William have not had their first kiss, though not due to lack of trying. William had tried to kiss her before, but typically during inappropriate times, such as in front of her family during diner. He’s even tried kissing other people, such as Damien, though he was always rejected. She says that Will is horrible at reading the atmosphere, and a bad romantic - unlike her. Dorian says that’s good, and that means when her first kiss comes, she'll be able to read the atmosphere, and it’ll be perfectly romantic. The two blush.

Mark, Nico, and Dani appear again wanting to stargaze up on the balcony. They startle Dorian and Monica, breaking the atmosphere.

Later that night, Monica, confused from how she felt earlier, reads one of her romance novels to brush up on her romantic knowledge. Meanwhile, Dorian begins studying “How to get a Girlfriend,” for the sake of intelligence and science.

  • Like the other chapters featured in the Hooky volumes, it has not been confirmed if they are actually canon to the story or not.
    • Based on the timeline of events, this chapter likely takes place sometime during episode 55, though it’s not exactly clear.
    • Since the ball happens the next day after Nico’s curse is lifted, it doesn’t leave much time for this chapter to happen.
    • Nico is full-grown in this chapter, meaning he’s either broken Dani’s curse or it’s during a full or new moon. Mark’s comments about going star gazing lends to the idea that the moon’s phases may be at the right time for the curse to be temporarily lifted.
    • It's also possible this chapter happens the same night as the end of episode 55.
  • Similarly to Monica's flashback in episode 33, William is seen impulsively attempting to kiss Damien.
